Our Story

Access to quality healthcare is not a privilege — it is a fundamental human right. Yet for many people, basic medical care remains out of reach. High treatment costs, lack of awareness, inadequate infrastructure, and geographical barriers continue to prevent individuals from receiving timely and effective healthcare.

SHARSH WELFARE SOCIETY was founded by Dr. Ram Harsh Sharma and Dr. Sangeeta Sharma, with a singular vision: to ensure that no individual is denied medical care due to financial constraints. We are established and committed with a focused mandate to provide accessible, affordable, and essential medical services at the lowest possible cost, without compromising on the quality of care.

Through a combination of medical outreach programs, low-cost treatments, preventive healthcare initiatives, and community engagement, we aim to bridge the gap between healthcare services and vulnerable populations. Our work is driven by compassion, supported by medical expertise, and sustained by the belief that every life matters.

The story of Dr. Ram Harsh Sharma is one of a doctor who dedicated his second chance at life to serving society. He comes from a distinguished family with a strong legacy in Ayurvedic medicine and academic excellence — yet his identity is defined by his own dedicated actions.

A qualified MD Physician and Critical Care Specialist, he is one of the founders of Agra's very first cardiac centre — Lotus Super Speciality Hospital — and has been serving there for over 20 years. When COVID-19 struck, he devoted himself tirelessly to the frontlines — and during that time, contracted the virus himself, battling between life and death in hospital for nearly two months.

After recovering, a new resolve awakened within him: if life had given him another chance, he would dedicate it to the betterment of others. Inspired by his father — a renowned Ayurvedic physician — his mother, and his social-worker wife, he founded Sharsh Welfare Society in 2021 to provide affordable, quality healthcare to economically disadvantaged individuals, irrespective of caste, creed, or religion.

What began as a humble initiative is now a broad healthcare mission — offering affordable medical services, diagnostics, subsidised medicines, and specialised medical camps in remote and impoverished areas. His journey is an inspiring example of resolve, gratitude, and health equity.

Mrs. Sangeeta Sharma, wife of Dr. Ram Harsh Sharma, stands as a remarkable force behind the foundation and growth of Sharsh Welfare Society. As co-founder, her role goes far beyond a title — she has been a driving spirit, a constant support system, and a strong pillar whose dedication helped transform a vision into a meaningful reality.

Her journey with the organization reflects commitment, compassion, and resilience — qualities that are essential in building an institution that truly serves society. Through quiet strength and steady leadership, she continues to shape the human heart of the NGO's work.
